Configurations
Depending on requirements, all QTAR Systems can be configured in many different ways, depending on the Operating System requirements and your company IT standards.
Configuration examples include:
- Single User system running on a single PC (Windows)
- Multi-User system running on a network of PCs (LAN, WAN or mixture)
- Multi-User system running on a VMS system or cluster
- Multi-User system running on a Unix system or cluster
- Client-Server system with "thin Clients" running on Windows PCs (e.g. NT/2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7) and the Processing Servers and the Database Server running on:
- Windows NT/2000/2003/2008 Server
- Unix system
- Open VMS system
- Any SQL database on any platform
- Client-Server system with "thick Clients" running on Windows PCs (e.g. NT/2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7) and the Database Server running on:
- Windows NT/2000/2003/2008 Server
- Unix system
- Open VMS system
- Any SQL database on any platform
- Any PDA (Personal Digital Assistant), EDA (Enterprise Digital Assistant), Mobile Phone, Mobile Computer or other hand-held PC running Windows Mobile or Pocket PC – normally you would have several of these, interacting in real time with any of the QTAR Systems described above
QTAR can be configured to use any SQL database (e.g. Oracle, MS SQL Server, mySQL, etc), or any ODBC-accessible database, or the Operating System's native
file system.
Existing QTAR clients can, of course, migrate to a different Operating System or to a Client-Server system, change to an SQL Database or add mobile devices
