Q›TAR Systems interface to many different types of reader with a variety of features and capabilities from all the leading manufacturers. These include badge readers of different sorts (eg. bar-code, magnetic-strip, proximity, etc), smart card readers, and biometric readers, which identify unique human characteristics such as hand shape, fingerprints, thumbprints, eyes, faces, voices, etc.

Q›TAR Systems utilise the features available in each of the readers to provide optional functions such as:

• The display of employee information (such as clocking times, overtime, flexitime balance, bonus to be paid, or current holiday entitlement)
• The display of supervisor information (such as departmental absentee list)
• Entering of information by a supervisor (such as absence reason or clocking time for an employee without a card)
• Entering of information by an employee (change of work centre or job type if labour costing information is being recorded)
• Access control (either linked to Q›TAR or stand-alone)
• Sounding of factory time sirens.
